Hello! (Obviously, consistent blogging isn’t my thing.) Here are some pictures from Finn’s 3rd birthday party a couple weeks ago.

Here’s when a bandit stole some presents and led the kids back to his hideout where gold cupcakes and other loot was recovered. 

Finn was pretty concerned about his gifts being stolen- he even shed a few tears when it seemed he wouldn’t ever get them back. Fortunately, gold cupcakes and three birthday candles made everything better. *Thanks photoshop, for the old-timey feel.

If you have a kid with an interest in cowboys, let me recommend this rad video. It’s an oldie but a goodie.

I have never been so sleep deprived.

I typically don’t shower before noon.

I’ve been losing more at Words With Friends. (Yes, I am sure it’s because I have 2 kids now.)

I’ve developed a theory that dirty diapers that don’t quite make it to the trash (they’re wrapped up and thrown next to a door or diaper pail for a few minutes hours until I get up the energy to bend down and pick things up off the floor) have parties where their friends show up creating embarrassing diaper piles in the corner.

We eat more than our fair share of sandwiches and quesadillas.

Finn watches more than his fair share of netflix. (Wonder Pets=irritating!)

I have a crazy amount of mom-fulfillment which includes hugs, snuggles, kisses, teaching moments, sweet smiles, book reading, silly songs, hiding under blankets, building forts, playing trains, and dance parties.

Liv Eleanor Malan

She arrived August 30th at 4:20am, weighing in at 7lbs. 2oz. and measuring 20 1/4 inches.

Although she arrived 3 days late, labor and delivery was smooth and pretty quick. After lots of long walks and having my membranes stripped earlier in the day, I started having strong, regular contractions about 9pm. Following a good game of scrabble (Jared won, but I WAS multitasking) we went to the hospital a just after midnight. Then after a few more hours of labor and 5 minutes of pushing she was out! And she’s good, and beautiful, and we totally adore her.

(I promised a kid-free post next, plus I’m awfully proud of Jared.)

A few pictures from some of our summer fun. While Jared and I were there for all events, our faces just don’t show as much emotion as Finn’s does- thus he gets the most camera time. (Plus we’ve decided the 1-yr-old is the best looking one in our family [at the moment].)
